H.E. the Ambassador Jassim bin Jaber J.B Al -Sorour received at his office today (9) H.E. Mrs. Sithara Khan Azad, Ambassador-designate of Sri Lanka to the State of Qatar. During the meeting the bilateral relations existing between the two friendly countries and the ways to enhance them to serve the interests of the people of both countries were discussed.

H.E. the Ambassador Jassim bin Jaber J.B Al- Sorour met with Hon. Mr. Arun Hemachandra, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Employment of Sri Lanka and Mr. D.J.A.S De S. Rajakaruna, Chairman of the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Sri Lanka on Wednesday (8).

The Arab Diplomatic Corps in Sri Lanka hosted a lunch banquet on Tuesday (7) at ITC Ratnadipa Hotel Colombo, in honor of H.E. Adel Ibrahim, Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt, on the occasion of presenting his credentials as Ambassador of Egypt to Sri Lanka.

H. E. the Ambassador Jassim bin Jaber J.B. Al-Suroor visited the High Commission of India in Colombo on Monday (30) to offer his condolences over the demise of former Indian Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh.

H.E. the Ambassador Jassim bin Jaber J.B. Al-Sorour participated at the “Yalda Night” an ancient Persian celebration organized by the Iran Cultural Centre of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran at the Lakshman Kadirgamar Institute in Colombo on Friday December 20.

H.E. Ambassador Jassim bin Jaber J.B. Al-Sorour received Mr. Herve Duboscq, General Manager of Shangri-La Hotel, Colombo at the Embassy premises on Thursday (19).

On the occasion of the National Day of the State of Qatar which falls on December 18, the Embassy organized a Reception Ceremony at Shangri-La Hotel in Colombo. Hon. Sunil Handunneththi, Minister of Industry and Entrepreneurship Development participated as the chief guest of this event.
