Do's and Don't
Do's and Don't
When entering holy places, it is customary to remove your shoes and walk barefoot within the designated area. This may also be the case in people's homes and even ancient temples.
Sri Lankan restaurants used to offer spicy foods, be cautious in this regard.
Do not laugh at worships of followers of different religions.
Book international and domestic flights to the country sufficiently in advance, in order to get best prices.
Book hotels and resorts in any way it deems best before traveling sufficiently in advance in order to get the hotels and resorts that you want. Hotel reservations preferably done via approved web sites.
The Qatari nationals who wish to visit Sri Lanka may contact the Embassy and inquire about all the necessary reservations for hotels and sea & mountain resorts. The embassy is ready to assist them.
Put your valuable items such as money and passports in a safe place.
Do not underestimate the risk of wildlife, note that between 40 to 50 people dies each year due to wild elephant attacks.
Take photo copies of the passport more than one image and keep them in different places and keep a copy of it with you.
Exchange your foreign currency from banks or approved money exchange companies.
Respect the cultural values in the country; make sure in your dealings with the local people that you respect those values.
Environmental Responsibility - Avoid plastics as much as possible, as the pollution and waste management is a major problem all over the world.
Do not lose receipts: keep the receipts for shopping until you leave the country. You may benefit from them when you depart the Island.
