On the occasion of the National Day of the State of Qatar which falls on December 18, the Embassy organized a Reception Ceremony at Shangri-La Hotel in Colombo.
Hon. Sunil Handunneththi, Minister of Industry and Entrepreneurship Development participated as the chief guest of this event.
A number of Minsters and Members of the Parliament of Sri Lanka graced this occasion, among them are Hon. Bimal Rathnayake, Minister of Transport, Highways, Ports and Civil Aviation, Hon.Prof. Chrishantha Abeysena, Minister of Science and Technology, Hon. Dr. Rizvie Salih, Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Hon. Muneer Mulaffer, Deputy Minister of National Integration, Hon. Sajith Premadasa , Leader of the Opposition.
The celebration was also attended by Heads of Diplomatic Missions and International Organizations accredited to Sri Lanka and Senior Government officials, a large number of businessmen, media personnel and dignitaries in the Sri Lankan community.
