The Minister of State for Energy Affairs of the State of Qatar H.E. Saad Sherida Al-Kaabi visited Sri Lanka during 25-26/1/2020. During this visit H.E. the Minister met with H.E. the President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, Hon. Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa,  Hon. Minister of Foreign Relations Dinesh Gunawardena, and Hon. Minister of Agriculture Chamal Rajapaksa,.

During the meetings the issues related to the bilateral relations between the two countries, especially the cooperation in the Energy Sector were discussed. 

H.E. Jassim bin Jaber Al-Sorour, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Sri Lanka was also present.
