His Excellency Gotabaya Rajapaksa, President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka received the Credentials of His Excellency Jassim bin Jaber J.B Al-Sorour, as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Qatar to Sri Lanka, at a reception held at the President’s House in Colombo on Monday 20/1/2020.
At the beginning of the reception, H.E. the Ambassador conveyed to H.E. the President of Sri Lanka the sincere greetings of His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar, wishing him the best of health and happiness and the friendly people of Sri Lanka continued progress and prosperity.
In turn H.E. the President requested H.E. the Ambassador to convey his sincere greetings to H.H. Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar, wishing him good health and happiness and the friendly people of Qatar continued progress and prosperity.
During the meeting, the bilateral relations existing between the two friendly countries and ways to enhance and support them in a way that serves the interests of the peoples of the two friendly countries were discussed.
The Credentials presentation ceremony was attended by Hon. Dinesh Gunawardena Minister of Foreign Relations in Sri Lanka, Mr. P.B. Jayasundara Secretary to His Excellency the President, Admiral Prof. Jayanath Colombage Additional Secretary to H.E the President for Foreign Relations, Mr.W.D.T Rodrigo Chief of Protocol at the Ministry of Foreign Relations in Sri Lnka and Mr. Khalid Saleh Al-Marri, Third Secretary of the Embassy.
