On the occasion of the 77th Independence Day of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, it gives me great pleasure to extend my warmest congratulations and best wishes to H.E. President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, the Government, and the friendly people of Sri Lanka.
Qatar and Sri Lanka have enjoyed excellent bilateral relations since the establishment of the diplomatic ties between the two countries in 1976. These relations have further strengthened and developed under the wise leadership of His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Amir of the State of Qatar.
I also wish for the relations between Qatar and Sri Lanka further progress and prosperity, in a way that achieves the interests of the both countries and meets the aspirations of the peoples of both nations, taking them to higher levels.
