On the occasion of the National Day of the State of Qatar, which falls on December 18, the Embassy organized a Reception Ceremony at Shangri-La Hotel in Colombo.

 

Hon. Naseer Ahmed, Minister of Environment participated as the chief guest of this event.

 

A number of Minsters and Members of Parliament graced this occasion, among them are Hon. Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena, Speaker of the Parliament, Hon. Ali Sabry, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hon. Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe ,Minister of Justice Prisons Affairs and Constitutional Reforms, Hon. Manusha Nanayakkara Minister of Labour and Foreign Employment, Hon. Roshan Ranasinghe ,Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs and Irrigation. Hon. Douglas Devananda, Minister of Fisheries. Hon. Mahinda Amaraweera, Minister of Agriculture Wildlife and Forest Resources Conservation, Hon. Sajith Premadasa , Leader of the Opposition.

 

The celebration was also attended by Heads of Diplomatic Missions and International Organizations accredited to Sri Lanka and Senior Government officials, a large number of businessmen, media personnel and dignitaries in the Sri Lankan community.
